About the Sandpiper Destination
The Sandpiper Destination is Forest River’s take on the destination trailer: a large, park-model-style towable designed to be parked, leveled, and lived in for a season rather than hauled around every weekend. Forest River, part of the Berkshire Hathaway family of companies, has built the Sandpiper name since 1994, making it one of the brand’s longest-running and most established lines. While the broader Sandpiper name also covers fifth wheels and travel trailers, this brand is specifically about the Destination line: the big-footprint, residential-style units meant for extended single-site stays.
What “Destination” really means
A destination trailer is a different animal from a typical RV. At 40 feet and up, these units favor living space over road manners. They are built to set up once on a long pad with full-time utilities and stay put, delivering the comfort of a small cabin without the cost or permanence of one. You give up nimble towing in exchange for room to breathe, full-size appliances, and layouts that feel like home.
Who it’s for
The Sandpiper Destination suits seasonal campers, snowbirds, lake-lot and resort-site owners, and families who want a recurring home base in a place they love. If you have a seasonal site, a piece of property, or a long-term spot at a campground, a destination trailer lets you come and go while everything you need stays set up and waiting.
The Forest River heritage
Decades of continuous production give Sandpiper a deep parts catalog, a wide dealer network, and well-understood construction. Current Destination floorplans include the 389HBFL front-living layout with kitchen island, the 396RKLR rear kitchen with a bath-and-a-half, the 41DUPLEX island-kitchen plan that sleeps nine, and the 422FKL front kitchen with a loft. Motor Sportsland carries the Sandpiper Destination, and we are happy to talk through which floorplan fits your site and how you intend to use it.
